I auditioned the SRH-1840 straight out of the box, and was unsatisfied with the sound, so I decided to give them a period of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite differences...

I didn't think of TEAC when I began searching for a dedicated CD player. My initial short list included Denon, Cambridge, Marantz, Onkyo. The Teac intrigued me, so I went for it. It is very...

Did it just start recently? When I used my E7 (never had the L7), it was completely quiet. Have you tried a different USB port or another computer?

My apologies Head Fi and Fiio for not spending more time trying to suss out the problem. turns out all the hum and white noise was due to the laptops power pack, which has since been fixed by using a new better power pack. Just for future reference to fellow headfiers dont underestimate like i did the role in which clean power being supplied to your setup can make. I really didnt expect it to be somthing as simple as that but it is. Zero noise when turning the amp right up with no music playing so i know i am now getting a nice clean signal. Stupid of me to think it might have been somthing to do with the Fiio product, they are flawless!! Love Fiio
