Best devices for protecting sensitive electronics?

That is, other than surge protectors. I've been looking at power conditioners, voltage regulators, etc. and they range in price from reasonable to ridiculous. Is it necessary to use any of these devices to prolong the life of my flat screen, computer, headphone amp, etc.? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

I use (2) Perma Power Line Conditioners.
They come up every once and awhile on Ebay.

Sensitive electronic equipment, need clean, voltage controlled power to assure proper performance free from damaging surges.
Power Voltage Regulators (PVR) protect against voltage fluctuations and surge damage and reduce the loss of irreplaceable data and damage to your expensive equipment.

Voltage Regulation. Maintains safe output voltage to protect your equipment and improve performance.

Input voltage range 120VAC +5%, -25%
90 – 126VAC

Output Voltage Regulation Meets ANSI C84.1-1995 “Electric Power and Equipment Voltage Ratings”.
Output voltage will be maintained to within the ANSI standard for the input voltage range from 90 to 126 VAC

Frequency 60 HZ

VA/Watts = 1200/1200.
Circuit Breaker = 10 Amp
Weight = 12 lb.

Locknar, there is one on EBay right now for $50 bucks. Search for Perma Power.

Surge suppressors are good, I use them. I also run an isolation transformer; you can find good ones at Nebraska Surplus.

Though if there are electrical storms about, I unplug everything. Doesn't cost much, either. biggrin.gif

We don't have too many electrical storms here in the foothills of the Angeles Crest National Forest. But when we do I like the low cost solution of pulling plugs!

Ooohh... this is my 69th post! I think I'll hold here for awhile.
