Silly question regarding gold-plated 1/4" to 1/8" adapters.

Sorry if this is the wrong section to post this in. It seemed the most appropriate to me.

I'm just wondering if there is any loss in quality if you connect a gold-plated headphone plug to a standard 1/8" adapter (which I assume is silver-plated). I lost the gold-plated 1/8" adapter that came with my ATH A700s, but luckily I had a standard one laying around that I can use.

Thanks in advance.

No..if there is proper contacting..

The gold plating is to resist corrosion (to ensure good contact), nothing more. It has no impact on sound quality per say. Nor does silver plating for that matter.
