Algorhythm Solo dock questions

I'm trying to build my own iPod-to-Solo dock, but seem to be having some problems.

Here's how I have it wired:

 

USB plug: Pin 2 = Data -

                Pin 3 = Data +

                Pin 4 = USB ground

 

iPod dock: Pin 25 = Data -

                 Pin 27 = Data +

                 Pin 16 = USB ground

 

Is this correct?

I'm pretty sure you need the +5vdc line connected as well, pin 23.

When I tried that, the iPod (5G) stops, and the 'OK to disconnect' screen comes up. It may be a problem with

my iPod, because if I use the supplied Solo cable (long), I get distorted sound with popping noise, which may

be DC offset.

on the bottom of the page it says that pins 1 and 2 may need to be jumped to ground for charging, maybe try that, might send some sort of indication to the ipod that you have hooked up a usb cable.

My iPod is a diyMod, and I'm wondering if the fact that the output stage has been bypassed has anything to do with it?

Yep, that's how I have it wired. Must be something wrong with the iPod.

May I ask where you bought that cable entry for the dock end in the above photos? I have tried several sites but still have no idea which size and type I should go with.

I've used Ridax as well, and always had good results, including pretty fast shipping. Qables also carries connectors for iPod.

Has anybody figured out how to wire the Solo and Ipod to an portable battery type external charger to charge the Ipod while still playing to the solo?

the way the solo is set up it wont allow this, it isnt setup to charge the idevice due to ipad.
