I will be abroad in Australia for the next 5 months and I'd like to take some high quality music with me!
Unfortunately bringing a whole desktop system is out of the question!
I'm currently using a MBP via optical to a DACMagic via XLR>3.5mmTRS to a RSA Protector to my DT880s.
I won't be able to bring the DACMagic, and I need a BUS POWERED DAC, and the HRT seems to fit the bill.
I'm looking at the MS II, the MSII+, and maybe a mark II version of the MSII+?
From what I can tell, the MSII+ is much better than the MSII.
However upon looking at the MSII+, it seems there is a MSII+ MKII version that has the same shape as the MSII?
The MSII is an oval/flat cylinder shape, the MSII+ is a trapezoidal cylinder, but then the OFFICAL HRT PDF shows the MSII+ as the same oval/flat cylinder shape as the MSII.
Is there any difference between the MSII+ and the MKII+ MKII?
