Brooklyn Meet

I had so much fun at the Detroit meet that I figured it would be cool to host one in my own backyard.  My apartment is not super big, so it'd probably be about 20 people max, but it's a nice wide open loft, and I should be able to set up enough space for everyone to set up their rigs.  Just want to see what interest might look like - I was figuring on some time in the first half of August, and my wife even offered to bake for everyone (she's a ridiculous cook I might add).  Just drop a post if you think you might be interested, along with your schedule constraints.

If it's before the 4th or after the 11th (in Mexico between those dates) I'm up for bringing my modest setup.

 

Some of the guys confirming have impressive collections, I think I spot a couple of JH3As? (JP and Boze) Would it be possible to temporarily transform the JH3A for universal listening, via a bag of pop on-and-off foamies? I'd love to hear it!

I don't think that is doable,unless some one can convince JHA to ship up their universal earpieces with cable to hook up to one of our amps.That they had a CJ10.even though they are not tuned to our particular amps it might give a idea how good the 3a sounds.

Would love to come but I'm a maybe at this point. I'm flying elsewhere on some work-related stuff first week of Aug so I should be able to make it after that. I can bring everything listed in my sig.

Thanks for the info, Boze. I remember at the last NYC meet there were JH13s and 16s with a bag of foamies, I assumed they were custom for someone but made temporarily universal. You may be right, they may have just been the universal type. If it's not doable I'd settle listening to anything JH Audio on the day :) I'm wondering if I should pull the trigger on hi-end customs and it'll help me decide.

I'm literally a block from the Morgan L stop - right across the street from Roberta's.  Looking like there's a goodly amount of interest, so I'm going to say it's definitely on!  I can do one of two Saturdays - either the 30th of July or the 13th of August.  Let me know which one is best, and I'll hammer it down and get this puppy rolling!  Post the gear you think you'd like to bring.  I will have:

 

  • Rare Bass-Heavy Early S/N K1000s (formerly Warp08's)
  • Re-Cabled FA-003s
  • Re-Cabled YH-3 Orthos
  • SR-71b amp and frosty breakouts
  • Black Lion modded RME UFX converters
  • Modified Temple Audio Bantam Gold (rewired the output to 4-pin balanced since I think it's a better headphone amp than a speaker amp).
  • Meier Audio Concerto
  • Anything else in my signature people want to hear
  • Frosty goodness!

July 30th or 13th August would be perfect for me. I will bring:

 

- Balanced MHDT Havana w/ some tubes if you'll want to tube-roll

- RSA Apache

- LCD-2 w/ Balanced Norse Audio Cable

 

I also have a Promitheus NOS Dac and a KICAS Caliente amp that I currently have for sale. If it doesn't sell by then, I can bring that along as well.

I'll be bringing an Audio-GD NFB-2, and HE-5LEs or HE-500s depending on what I have on hand then.

Made me smile, wouldn't that be fun!  Looks though like the 6th is a actually a no-go for me, so it's either July 30th or August 13th.  July 30th is probably a little better for me, but I'll defer to whatever seems to be the best for everyone else.  And of course, I'll PM my address to everyone involved once I have a final list.
