You are only covered under lifetime guarantee if you have the original receipt from an authorized dealer.  Open box or used items don't apply, although I do think they should if open box policy.

I'm really looking for great overall sound quality with bass that would appeal to a basshead.

I'm ordering them from Amazon because they definitely have the best price for a Canadian.

Pro Gold = $280

Pro Copper = $220

Miles Davis = $250

The Copper and MD are also available for about $160 'used.' Not exactly sure if i want to risk that purchase.

I did some research, and apparently in terms of bass, it goes Gold > Miles Davis > Copper.

I don't know for sure though.

Any opinions and advice would be appreciated.

I'm thinking of ordering a Fiio E5 as well for the bass boost option.

I hear, unlike the Beats by Dre, these are actually quality headphones from Monster.

I own Pro Golds and Miles Davis and I actually give the bass nod to the Miles Davis Tributes.  The sub bass on these phones is spectacular.  Apparently 2nd to Atrio's in the sub bass department but that is very close in my opinion and I've tried both.

In terms of clarity, separation, and imaging? Yes. Sub-bass and vocals are better too imo amped.
