Monster Turbine Pro Copper, Gold, or Miles Davis?

Which of these IEMs is the best?
I'm really looking for great overall sound quality with bass that would appeal to a basshead.

I'm ordering them from Amazon because they definitely have the best price for a Canadian.

Pro Gold = $280

Pro Copper = $220

Miles Davis = $250

The Copper and MD are also available for about $160 'used.' Not exactly sure if i want to risk that purchase.

I did some research, and apparently in terms of bass, it goes Gold > Miles Davis > Copper.

I don't know for sure though.

Any opinions and advice would be appreciated.

I'm thinking of ordering a Fiio E5 as well for the bass boost option.

I hear, unlike the Beats by Dre, these are actually quality headphones from Monster.

As far as used purchases, monster has a lifetime warranty on all three of those IEMs, so it shouldn't really be a concern to buy used since if something breaks you will still get a new replacement directly from monster, assuming they are legitimate.

Good point :).

It should be legitimate, considering they're from an Amazon Warehouse sale.

It's just i don't want them coming with paint chips or something.

These three are all quality headphones, the only differences are the signatures.  I haven't heard any of them, but do know for sure the Golds have the most bass and the Coppers are the most balanced.  I haven't heard much about the Miles Davis Tributes though.

Also, I'd recommend getting from an authorized dealer so you can have the full lifetime warranty as you don't get jack if you purchase from unauthorized retailers, so the "used" won't cut it from Monster.  The Turbines (specifically Coppers) have had some build issues from what I've read.

Thanks for the reassurance!

Now i'm just wondering if buying a Fiio E5 and using the bass boost option would work?

Just checked the Monster site, Amazon is an authorized dealer so it should be fine buying from them.

What are you boosting with the E5?  I'm just curious, cause if it's the Golds, you've gone mad :p

Also, make sure it's Amazon direct and not a third-party vender through Amazon (that wouldn't be an authorized dealer).  If it is a third party dealer, check and make sure that dealer is on the list.

I've decided to buy the Miles Davis headphones so i'll probably end up boosting them with the E5 :P

It's definitely from Amazon. No worries there.

I haven't heard all of those, but I do have Coppers and standard Turbines. If you consider yourself a basshead I'd say go for the Golds, since they're apparently just as bassy as the standard Turbines but improved on all other fronts. And the Turbine bass is delicious for when you're in that mood. Don't get me wrong, the Coppers have great bass, just less of it.

Also, you should just be able to EQ in more bass. You don't need an amp just for that.

PS. They need to be new. Used pairs don't get the warranty AFAIK. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

Do not buy the Golds for the amazon price

the Coppers and MD have higher MSRP and are higher on the Monster hierarchy and in SQ.

The Coppers have the least amount of bass out of the 3 but still have great enough bass for a basshead

I prefer the Coppers over the MDT I think, but it does depend on my mood and what I'm listening to!

What sort of music do you generally listen to?

I think tips can help increase the bass of the Coppers. Sony hybrids work well for me.

It seems the best choice is the MDT but are they a lot les sbass than gold? cause bass is very important to me, i want a strong , punchy bass for my TRANCE and other edm music...thanks..! also i heard that its MDT>IE8>Gold

I dunno about the golds. With fast-paced EDM the Copper might have the edge over the MDT imo due to it's speed. The bass of the MDT is bigger, especially in the sub-bass, but it might be a bit slower and less tight with more lingering decay. I can't speak for trance though, I listen to DnB and Dubstep. I'd probably say the Copper for DnB and the MD for dubstep.

I don't think you can go wrong with either though!

About the MDT's

"The bass won't blow you away, but that's because they're looking for accuracy and not for a bass-booster" :/ it wont blow me away...i want a lot of bass guys :S! not im indecisive again...
