Itunes how to import a complete folder

I never seem to be able to grasp this maze... I made a folder with mp 3s I want to import to the player. But I find no way to add the folder to a playlist it just add all files to the library. Manage to get most of them in by choosing the last added sorting function but not all. What is the idea about not being allowed to choose what folders to import to your Ipod touch 3G as in my case?

It's Apple. Open the playlist in iTunes, drag the folder onto the playlist window. Drop. Done.

Alternatively go to File -> Add to library... then choose the folder and it will import everything including subfolders.

On Windows it has 2 different settings as far as I remember: File -> Add Folder to library

It´s crap... Open the playlist. Drag the folder and nothing happens despite the plus sign? Maybe due to it already been imported but I want all the music in that solder in a separate playlist.

Are you using it on OS X or Windows? You never did say. Regardless of whether or not they're in iTunes already shouldn't matter. If you drag the files in they'll be added again. The only possible exception is if you're dragging files from your iTunes folder, but I'm not going to bother checking.

If you're getting the plus and nothing happens hold it for a few seconds before release. I used to have a similar problem on my older laptop where, essentially, the OS wasn't keeping up with what I was doing. As for whether or not it's possible, that's what I do every time I add new music. I have a playlist where I drop all new music so I can edit tags, add artwork and so forth without having to go hunting.

Then, if the music is already in iTunes... Why not just drag it over to the sources bar and create a new playlist?

[Edit:]

Are you dragging the files into an already created playlist or are you trying to create one on the fly as you drag the files in using the method you would use to create a playlist if they were already in, that being drop the files onto the side-bar in some empty space? iTunes might not recognize that as a valid drop-area.

I have a nameless playlist on the left I try to add it to. Since you can only import playlists for whatever reason.

However I did have some "nameless folder" which I tried yesterday and that didn´t work. Got it into a the playlist now finally :)

The problem is I added 20 gig of music and trying to manually sort it out after itunes make a total mess in what order it show the music. It destroy the folders it appears was quite an impossible task.

How is it if you jailbreak your Ipod can you still use your apps and such? Then you can just copy and paste music into your Ipod at free will I hope and maybe even use FLAC?

I've never jail-broken an iOS device (for a number of reasons) but there are a few good ways to do it online. Head to Lifehacker.com and see if you can find an article. Otherwise, Google. However, unless someone creates a new audio player that you can load on it, iTunes on iOS does not support FLAC. But what's the issue? Just convert to ALAC. It's a lossless-to-lossless conversion of with two formats that are, for all intents and purposes, identical. You don't lose any data.

i suspect the stuff in the folder is in a format itunes and his holiness steve doesnt like, therefore doesnt recognise, therefore pretends doesnt exist.
