Get a haircut!!! 
Seriously, each end every time I start thinking about how my setup could be improved by getting new gear (which happens every month or so (maybe every 2 months)0, I get a haircut and suddenly everything sounds better, no more veil, no more smearing, everything is suddenly clearer.
Other people in the same situation?
