Audio Technica ATH-AD700 With on board (computer) sound.

I have a pretty new computer and was in the market for a headset, but everyone told me to get a nice pair of headphones and a clip on mic instead.

I don't really like that idea, but I noticed the AD700 is around the price of the headset I was looking at.

The problem comes with having to buy a headphone amp, and a soundcard, pushing me extremely out of budget. Will these cans sound good with on board sound? Should I even bother? Should I just get a headset? (Corsair HS1).

AD700 is excellent entry to Head-Fi and one of the best for gaming. Get it and enjoy. Answers are below.

Thanks! The 'Should I even bother' was 'Should I even bother buying them' but I think you read 'should I be worried'. Awesome! I'll order them tonight.

I'm excited :)

I've read you right. AD700 does not require an amp, sound card is enough.
