I don't think EDM is a con wink.gif

Aside from the price, the Pro 900 can have a slightly metallic sound due to the titanium drivers, and they really need quite a lot of hours to burn in. People usually recommend 400 hours of burn in before the headphones really start singing, but I personally found that between 60 to 120 hours was when they really opened up.

Also, they have a slightly bright signature, but I'm quite treble sensitive and after letting them run for a few days, that smoothed out nicely.

Basically, they're ideal for EDM, but not so balanced for other genres, which I don't think it's much of a concern to you. Heck, I even use it for other genres and still love them biggrin.gif If they don't feel right for a certain genre, I just EQ them and they're fine. Not to mention they're also amazing for movies popcorn.gif

You don't need luck... you've got your own special ears, unlike anyone else biggrin.gif But do go explore the thick eBay forests and return alive, wielding a pair of Pro 900 wink.gif

You should've already done that tongue.gif I'm just joking, but it will be quite the difference from those to the Pro 900s.

Ah, gaming is also interesting on the Pro 900s. Just get a Zalman clip-on mic and you're all set ;)

Lol, check my sig, they're there wink.gif

There are many thoughts on how to do proper burn in, but I find that just using them is a good way, putting hours on them works just fine.

BTW, have you thought on getting a soundcard with proper gaming support, like a Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro, Auzentech X-Fi Forte, or Creative X-Fi Titanium HD? Those have literally all the bells and whistles for gaming, and sound great to boot.

Nice channel, man. There are some good tunes there, even though I'm more of a psytrance kind of guy.

EDIT: Currently listening to Avatar Main Theme (Remixed Edit), and it's sounding good, even if a little too short (I wanted morebiggrin.gif)

Just like it's being discussed on the Pro 900 appreciation thread, the Pro 900 can be listened through a portable source and unamped, but they really open up with a good source and some amping. You could get a X-Fi Titanium (regular model) for 60-70 dollars or less than 50 if refurb, then adding a Fiio E11 and you would end up with a smashing setup for both music, games and movies wink.gif

Still going through the channel, though.

Final thoughts on the channel? Oh and how does the fiio 11 compare to 7th? Thanks, hope you liked my music...

Good stuff there, will have to keep on popping by to check on updates.

E11 is an amplifier while E7 is a DAC/amp combo, but the amp section is much weaker than E11, as well as being more analytical. Which is why I recommended getting a X-Fi Titanium and a E11, which can end up costing more or less the same as a standalone E7, but having superior performance.

Do the pro 900s sound good with rocknroll?
