Not all SP amps are bad!!  I'm still perfectly happy with the SDS circa 2003.  Actually mine is one of the first built when Mikhail was out making a name for himself.  My particular unit is the best SE amp I've heard, edging out both the Zana & Woo 5 by a good stretch.  I'm using it less and less now as I'm having blast with my Gilmore Reference Balanced.  Still my SDS in SE mode is ever so slightly sweeter sounding & more dynamics than even the Gilmore in balanced configuration.  Mikhail was truly gifted when he is on his game though.

Are you certain of that?  ;)  Have you had a chance to check out the circuit?

All checked out and good on my SDS!  Though I had bad experience as well with another SDS.  This particular amp was great stock but Mikhail screwed up on upgrading the curcuits causing the amp to kill my Senn HD650!
