Will playing FLAC/APE etc off of a laptop sound better/same/worse than a portable player?

Would a Sony Vaio Z laptop and a HIFI DAC such as Colorful's Colorfly render the same quality sound with the same audio file and headphone?

I use a Shure SE425 so it isn't the BEST of the best.

*I'm new to the scene =)

Not too sure?

 

Look into down loading Foobar2000 with the Wasapi add on - Wasapi's located  (I think) second bottom of "components" ..

 

This is what I do know however, It will sound much better with it.
