Are the new Woo Audio 6 head amps different from the ones being made a couple of years ago? I am just wondering why used ones seemed to be priced higher than new ones.

In the past Woo Audio offered a premium parts upgrade for the WA6, but I don't see it as an option on their site anymore. You might still be able to get it as a special request maybe. Also the WA6 use to have an upgrade option called the PDPS, a pseudo dual power supply, nowadays it's stock on all WA6. The older WA6 also had smaller tube cut-outs for the drive tubes, those older WA6 could not accommodate fat bottle tubes or Woo's new teflon tube adapters. But there's a head-fi member who might be able to make you a tube adapter for the older WA6 if you ask nicely.
Hope that helps.

Thank you Sphinxvc. So, it sounds like the WA6 now comes stock with the options you used to have to pay extra for. Therefore, a used WA6 and tubes shouldn't be selling for more than a new one, irregardless of what the older model may have cost. So, I guess that means that the answer to my question it that when I see a used one selling for more than a new one the seller doesn't know its' used value.

No, the premium parts upgrade which cost about $300-400 is not stock on WA6 now. It's probably special request only, or not available at all.

Sphinxvc,
Thank you for trying to clear this up for me. I received the following answer from Jack Woo:
Hi Robert,
The upgrade parts are no longer offered because they are out of production. The only upgrade we can do are the V-Cap input caps ($170) and the DACT stepped attenuator ($215). You can send the extra payment to orders@wooaudio.com via PayPal.
Thank you,
Jack
You are right, the parts don't exist anymore. It would seem that the older ones with the upgrades would surpass the newer WA6s' and it clarifies why they would be worth more than the new. It also means that in looking at used ones that I need to keep that in the back of my mind. Need to find out if it had upgrades that exceed what is offered now.
