A while back there was some discussion (started by myself, admittedly) in the standard photography thread about creating a second thread for larger images, intended for those with larger monitors and faster internet connections. This thread is not intended to replace the standard photography one - it is meant to act as a companion to it, holding different images so that the old one can remain a place for those with slower connections or smaller monitors.
As this is in the experimental phase, we're going to start off with 1024 pixels as the default (not quite a maximum, but a recommended upper limit) size for the longest dimension of a photo. If the thread catches on, then we'll see if the limit needs changing and go from there. This limit is taken from the discussion in the old thread.
It would also be preferred if posters can stick to a fairly small number of pictures per post (4-6) - the reason for this is to keep the number of photos per page down to a manageable number. As with the other thread, commentary, discussion, etc. are welcome.
Happy posting everyone, and let's see if the thread lives!
