Looking for a resonable pair of tower/floor speakers

I am purchasing components for a 5.1 home theater system, however I am on a tight budget. I am having difficulty choosing floor/tower speakers for a left and right channel. I will be spending 60% of the time using the speakers for home theater and 40% for music playback (classic rock). The room dimensions are approximately 15" by 12". I have not purchased an A/V receiver yet.

I was hoping not to spend more than $250 per floor speaker, so $500-600 for both channels. Any ideas for the best value? So far I'm looking at Polk and Klipsch but I am open to any suggestions.

Thanks!

Thanks, this seems good for my budget. Should I stick with a Pioneer center, rear speakers, and subwoofer also so it voice-matches?

not entirely sure, but it would seem the reasonable thing to do.

if at all possible, I'd recommend to audition before buying. having said that, I doubt you should be disappointed with them; at the price probably not find any better. imo
