Might be too dangerous.  Even if you had the money, some drunk idiot will probably find a way to kill themself by puking into your beefy 'stat amp...

Gear mentioned in this thread:

By then, we'll have hundreds of new products to choose from.

Also, you'll be able to pick up today's top end gear at a huge savings.

Things will just get better. smily_headphones1.gif

I joined a fraternity that somewhat resembled "Animal House." Those are only two of the benefits. smily_headphones1.gif

We were put on double-secret probation for the party where we hauled old furniture up on the roof, set it on fire, then threw it off the roof. We had a cheering crowd, too.

It was worth it. biggrin.gif

I also managed, indirectly, to get kegs banned at my law school. I was president of a legal fraternity (one of the professional ones) and used Student Bar Association funds to buy several kegs for a "recruitment" event. The administration, for whatever reason, took a dim view of that. It might have had something to do with students passed out in the law library and common areas.

Again, it was worth it. biggrin.gif

Sorry Uncle Erik - you've been outed as an Ambulance Chaser  very_evil_smiley.gif

My opinion of the legal profession can be summed up by two words - Lionel Hutz.

Sure, Family Guy and American Dad are way sharper/funnier, but Hutz was one out of the box way before those guys graced our screens.

Oh, you have no idea what goes on inside law firms. Lots of shenanigans and practical jokes. And lots and lots of drinking.

As for ambulance chasing, I only did it briefly and as a small side practice.

My "big" case was when an improperly installed 10' fluorescent fell on a local shop owner. She had some injuries and we settled it.

My favorite was when some distant cousin of a partner came riding up to the office on his bicycle. He came in with a plastic bag with a slice of baloney in it. The slice had a piece of metal in it, and it looked like it came from the factory that way. The guy was convinced that he had hit the jackpot and would be rolling in money from it. But the partner set him straight - if he didn't eat the piece of metal and suffer damages, then his recovery would most likely be a free pack of baloney. That didn't go over well. But we kept the slice of baloney in the freezer. It was in there for years.

The other classic piece from a client we had was half of a flyswatter. The client was going through a divorce and his wife demanded half of everything. So he put the flyswatter on the scrollsaw and brought in half to be given to her. The half-flyswatter was tacked up in a back room.

As for ambulance chasing, we actually did it - literally! In law school, we joined up with a chapter of our legal fraternity at another nearby school. We put on a charity 10k run and managed to get an ambulance to show up for participants to run behind. smily_headphones1.gif

Anyhow, I've done a lot of complex business litigation and am getting into tax.

Though early retirement weighs heavily. Might pick up another seven rental units and am planning to start a small business. I've had enough of prepping pleadings, discovery, trial binders, etc. at 3AM then being back in at 9AM. I do like going to court and various lawyer stuff, so if I can knock it off in 5-10 years, I'll probably give Legal Aid 20-30 hours a week. People need the help, but I don't want to rely on it as a principal source of income.
