DIY Tube Amp

The idea of building a tube amp is very appealing to me but I don't really know where to start. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction in terms of an amp kit for beginners that isn't too expensive.

Bottlehead makes good kits with great building manuals which make their amps easy to build despite the point-to-point. My first amplifier was a Millett Minimax: the case is already made and it's nearly all on PCB, but the sound is, IMHO, disappointing.

Try the Bottlehead Crack. Nice, reasonably priced kit, and they have a forum with plenty of help and documentation.
