For Sale:
FS: Grado SR-325i "Goldies" - 50th Anniversary Edition Headphones
Will Ship To: CONUS Preferred
I have a pair of Grado SR-325i "Goldies" available for sale. I'll rate them an 8/10 on the Audiogon scale. The aluminum cups are in good condition - they may feature a few small hairline scratches, but no gouges, etc. The bowl pads still have a nice amount of life left in them.
This pair of Grados was recently serviced by Grado in Brookyn, NY. The original cable was a bit twisted in spots. So, I sent the Grados in for a cable replacement and asked for them to also replace the drivers on the headphones, which they did. When Grado replaced the cable, the default end was the 1/8" male connector. The also included the 1/8" to 1/4" connector - which I will also ship in the box with these headphones. The cost of this service was $45.00. I have the invoice that I'll include in the box with the sale of these headphones. Since getting these Grados back from Grado, I've only used them for 10 hours - tops. I have 3 other pair of Grados that I use. These Grados, with their new drivers are suitable for the new owner to put them through a break-in process and the actual sound of the headphones, will change a bit more - for the better, following this process.
I will ship these headphones in a Grado pizza box, placed inside of a USPS Priority Mail "medium" box.
I'm asking $220.00 for these headphones. Shipping with insurance would be $15.00 for U.S. customers. I can accept PayPal, but will ask for a "gift" transaction, so I don't have to take on the PayPal fees.
Ideally, I'd like to have this be a CONUS sale and would provide a preference to CONUS customers. However, I am open to shipping internationally if the buyer is willing to accept the additional postage fees and / or any import fees.
Please let me know if you have any questions. I'm only selling these because I'm a person who loves to modify Grado headphones. However, with this being their anniversary edition, I'm very reluctant to harm them in any way by performing upgrades. There is one small upgrade feature that I've done, which can be removed in less than 2 minutes if desired. I installed collar locks on the silver rods of the headphones so that they would be locked into my favorite listening position. These collar locks are held in place with black set-screws. The set-screws can be backed out for adjustments or removal with a 1/8" allen wrench. It's as simple as that. I've really grown to love these collar locks and now use them on all my Grados due to the fact that it's so easy to pick up the headphones and have them already adjusted into position and ready for music.
Tuesday P.M. - 6/7/2011 - Price dropped by $20.
Saturday A.M. - 6/11/2011 - Local Sale Was Pending. Headphones still available.
Saturday P.M. - 6/11/2011 - While I have only three transactions on this site, I have had multiple transactions on Audiogon (same ID as here), as well as eBay over the past 12 years.
Thursday A.M. - 6/16/2011 - I currently have a sale on these headphones "pending" with Physther, since he was the first one to reach me. There have been two others since that have sent me messages of interest after this first individual did. If, for some reason, this deal falls through with the first person in line, I'll move onto the 2nd regarding a transaction. Thank you.
Thursday P.M. - 6/16/2011 - My lovely "Goldies" have been sold and will be shipped off to their new owner tomorrow morning.
