A discussion thread: Gatorized Caiman and StyleAuodio CARAT RUBY2

There is very little information about this products in the market. To me this two product seem to be direct competitors as they basically offer the same kind of feature. I am in market for such a DAC/amp device due to my limited desk space and of couse budget. So I open this thread so I can get a discussion started, hope it will help future members.

I had Carat Ruby2 borrowed for comparison with Nufroce HDP. HDP have clearly better sounding and more powerful amp, so if you want it as Dac/Amp combo, HDP is winner here.

 

If I compare dacs, Ruby offer sligthly warmer sound with more texture and better soundstage. Hdp is brighter, more airy presentation with better detail.

thank you, I ended up buying the new gatorized caiman, I totaly forgort about HDP. The reason I went with the caiman is that Stan who is the maker is always working on his products and down the track provides easy modification which are affordable and functionable. Now I am wondering about the HDP :(
