Liquid Fire?

I am interested to know if the Liquid Fire Amp is going to have a DIY board eventually or will it only be a commercial only unit?

As far as I know it will be commercial only.

Is there anything diy that is its equivalent? If I had the cash I would have one on order right now, but that is not the case.

With the demands of launching a commercial line, I doubt (in my opinion) that there is time for any additional DIY efforts in the forseeable future. It is shocking how much time it takes to support a (not for profit) DIY design... not to mention the politics.

The closest DIY would be the EHHA II, in the Cavalli line - not sure of anything close otherwise..

^ Is EHHA II available for DIYers ?

I was looking at the EHHA II already. I need something that will pair well with the LCD-2's I'm getting in a couple of months. Would this be a good match? The EHHA II and the Beta 22 are at the top of my list and I don't know which to pick. I guess I could do both over time and sell the one that I like the least.

The EHHA and EHHA Rev A are available for DIY:

There is no EHHA II per se. Rather there are two versions of the EHHA. The Rev A includes the appropriate power supplies whereas the original EHHA requires the user provide the power supply. There are some other small differences in implementation, but, they are for all intents and purposes identical (or near identical) in performance.

Both are available in kit form from Glass Jar:

I meant to say EHHA Rev A. Didn't realize EHHA II is not available yet.

No,

There won't be an EHHA-II. At least not that I know of. While I don't speak for the good doctor, IMHO I don't think we will see any more new DIY designs being made available from the Cavalli stables. And if we do, it won't be for a good while atleast..

There did used to be an entry called "EHHA II" on the old website.

So, the EHHA II project did exist for at least some point at some stage. Who knows if Cavalli will ever finish or release it.

Along with a "Super Bijou"

I am pretty damn sure there were more entries at one point.

OCL Buffer?

Not sure, but I think there was more.

Maybe exsata was there before it was finished.

I don't know the guy at all, so this is me just talking out of my ass...

But I am inclined to think that he will be releasing more DIY projects... eventually.

^ There were some entries in old websites with designs under development( EHHA II, Super Bijou).

But those have been pruned from new site presumably because they won't be offered to DIY community.

About pairing with the LCD-2 , both the original EHHA & the EHHA rev. A work fantastically well with them & as a matter of fact for any headphone I have tried.

These amps are serious bargains even in the DIY realms.

The original design concept for the EHHA II was to go beyond a headphone amp and also double as a speaker amp (100W into 4ohms).

Perhaps someday, but I would not be surprised if it surfaced as a commercial offering.

I keep seeing that people have this liquid gold prototype version.  How close is that unit to the fire?  Is the board available for purchase?

Sachu, DBel, boilermakerfan and I have those, as informal prototypers that work with Cavalli. They are all now assumed to be for commercial offerings, and we have all entered into Non Disclosure Agreements regarding them. I leave them in my sig for my own vanity (shocking, eh?).

But, these designs (Liquids Fire, Gold, Lightening (Purple Haze), etc) are not likely to ever be DIY offerings.

My bad on the EHHA II - as corrected, it is EHHA Rev A. I also carefully avoided mentioning Stacker / Stacker II, of which two builds exist, and are in private hands - and, again, will not be DIY. Finally, how did I overlook the CTH?

Vanity is the one reason we love doing things :).  I would love to get the CTH rev A board, but it appears that it is not available, or at least only available for a group buy.

Maybe one day the cool stuff will hit us normals :)
