Love that live version. Tequila Sunrise is also amazing.

Heard an outstanding cut that is a Duet between Yamagata and Ray LaMontagne, titled simply, Duet.  I haven't been able to find the source as far as an album but it's online as a download and video.  Gorgeous song - nice recording and two great voices together:

Stunning acappella version of a Joni Mitchell classic.

Great thread with plenty of good recommendations , my favorites were Jim White, CocoRosie, & Mary Gauthier.

My own recommendation is to seek out works of greek artist/composer "Eleni Karaindrou".

she's done her own albums as well as movie soundtracks.

Elton John - Your Song

Ellie Goulding - Your Song

Ellie Goulding - Your Song (Blackmill Remix)

-----

3 amazing versions of an amazing song. If you like the Blackmill remix you can get it for free via his Facebook, and if you like it enough buy his new album 'Miracle'...It's fantastic. There's not much uplifting Dubstep out there, but Blackmill nailed it.

Absolutely loving The Antlers - Burst Apart. More hopeful than the bleak Hospice, the album soars in parts. Had me on first listen.

Thanks.  No, I just wasn't using them enough to warrant the expense of them collecting dust on my desktop.  At work I use IEM's a lot so decided to invest what the money from selling the can rig into that indulgence which gets a whole lot more use. I listen to my speaker rig far more frequently and nothing in the world of headphones comes close to that for me.  Just a personal preference I guess.

Obligatory music content...

i really don't see it mentioned very frequently so i thought i'd add  White Stripes's album Elephant, the songs In the Cold, Cold Night and Ball and Biscuit are particular favorites of mine.

also, (barely EVER mentioned) is "Ott".  he's a well known record producer in england and in his spare time makes sort of reggae digital music, that is fantastic.

Jack White is a brilliant musician.  I don't have Elephant, though, but four others.  How does "Elephant" compare to Get Behind me Satan, or Icky Thump?  On another Jack White note, I'd really enjoyed the documentary, This is Going to get Loud.
