Thanks for this - Saturday Sessions 2010 is amazing.  Had no idea it existed.  I think I saw there's a 2011 one too...hmm!

Thank you both - I'd never heard of The Saturday Sessions and just ordered both years.

Listening to this as I write:

The pic you posted is of Nickel Creek's self-titled album. This is Reasons Why:

Great band, I agree.

Eagles - Hell freezes over (CD). Hotel Califonia is "hauntingly" fantastic.

Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu's Rrakala is sublime. I implore people seek this out.

I love this new one from Perfume Genius, "Put Your Back N 2 It".  Its been on frequent rotation since a friend recently introduced me to it.  His stuff is kind of low-tech, haunting, plaintive.  My friend pointed me his way because he knows I love Antony.  I actually didn't get the connection in terms of the way the music sounds, but I do like this guy very much.  Great lyrics. Unique and talented.

Currently listening to his previous release, which I don't connect to as much thus far, but a first listen for me.  There've been a few good cuts, but it more of distant and rough cut as far as acoustics and my system is very revealing which makes recordings like this a bit much - it almost sounds mono:

Interesting controversy over the promotion of the new album - YouTube refused to post the 16 second promo video.  Here's a blurb on it that included the banned clip (good on Michael Stipe...shame on YouTube).

Just listened to Atom Heart Mother by Pink Floyd for the first time. I really liked this album. The last track had so many out of the head sound effects I ended up pausing it a few times because I thought my wife had walked into the room.
