Me too, brother.
Me too, brother.
There are so many responses, which one to trust? Not possible to try them all.
I did end up getting Waltz for Debbie which has Bill Evans and Monica Zetterlund. This version came out in 1964 and the one cited by KingStyles in 1961. I probably will have both versions at some point.
Another excellent album is Waltz for Koop, modern, kind of trippy, funky but excellent
From Amazon:
"Koop means co-operation. And apart from the core duo of composers / arrangers / producers Magnus Zingmark and Oscar Simonsson with their wide range of collaborators, what's really co-operating in Koop’s music is the sixties vocaljazz-magic of Swedish icon Monica Zetterlund with a producer-focused 2001"

Well, I just joined the LCD-2 rev2 club and must say i am loving listening to Alter Bridge "Black Bird".
A new version of an old favorite. Same artists in same amazing venue, but with a much deeper, heavier male choral sound (the previous release, which is also GREAT, has a much airier female choral sound), which makes for a weightier version that stands on its own. Just like everything Savall / Alia Vox does, the quality of sound and recording are peerless. Don't go here if you don't like Early Music, needless to say:
Finally Adams in a more simple, acoustic arrangement hearkening back to Heartbreaker, though his is a bit slower and more sedate, but I like it a lot, so far:
This one's been growing on me - A Daniel Lanois project; Black Dub. The lead singer, Trixie Whitley, is the daughter of another talented artist that I went to high school with, Chris Whitley (RIP) is great. You can definitely hear Lanois's hand in this, but it is entirely unique from anything else he's done:
Chris's stuff is great too. My favorite:
Also growing on me - talented indie with a widely diverse and prolific release from 2004 - David Garza
Jennifer Warnes, CD, BEST. (First we take manhattan). Digitally Remastered from Germany. Label is ZOUNDS. Way Down Deep is off the chart.
Jennifer Warnes CD The Well.
Diane Schuur, CD " The Gathering ". Its 10 country tear jerkers sung by a Jazz singer. If the tear jerkers are to much for you, tracks 2 and 6 are a little up beat with a touch of funk. I think you will like it, she has a fine voice.
