Forte headphone out to another amp

Thread Starter

My frankenstein Grado sr60's stitched together with solder, shrink tube, and tape finally bit the dust, so I've ordered a pair of Beyer DT880/600's and a Fiio E9 amp. I have a couple questions about this setup.

1.) My Sound card is an auzentech forte with a built-in headphone amp. I don't see any other line out, do I just use the headphone out to connect to my E9 amp?

2.)  I assume my headphone detection will not work through the amp, right? Does that mean I have to switch the driver from 2.1 to headphones every time I switch?

3.) Is it best to keep the computer volume at 100% or less?

Thanks,

Yes it has a line out as part of a breakout cable. Hopefully you still have that cable. The headphone amp on this card really is not designed to drive anouther amp & could go unstable & oscilate if you do connect to anouther amp. That cable connects to what looks like an output connector for an analog video monitor
