Dropping your new baby on it's head.....

Soooo....I got my Algorhythm Solo yesterday. Today I've got some down time at work so I pull out my rig: Solo, Headstage Arrow 3g, 7th gen classic 160, IE8's - I got it all set up nicely on the arm of my chair, got a 2ft iPod cable coming out to hook up to my iPhone and I stand up to check on something.........the @#%in' cable is caught on my pants & SMACK!!! it hit's the floor. My heart sank.....just like the day I bought my first car and rear-ended someone within the first hour. Luckily for me I had the rig in the Black Star bag I got with it, so I pull it out of the bag to inspect it- nothing - phew - so as I roll it back into the bag, I DROP IT AGAIN!! This time sans protection. Luckily it's only a couple of feet drop onto carpet, all good- what an idiot I'm thinking. I'm painfully careful & protective when it comes to my gear, but inevitably I end up doing something like that. Anyway, my pulse rate's back to normal now and I'm wondering if others have painful tales of woe given the "portable" nature of portable rigs?

Talking of wanton destruction...

During my progress up the IEM ladder I passed (and stopped for a few months) at nice little PL50's... They are now kept in the coffee table in my front room PURELY to listen to football on a saturday afternoon via my iPhone (radio app), when I can't get to the pub etc (one headphone in and the other hangin' loose so I can hear my wife instructing me to do things).

Two weeks back my wonderful beautiful 19 month old chewed the left earpiece, in the 10 seconds it took me to grab the remote control from across the room.

Bosh... destroyed.... But, every cloud has a silver lining... The right earpiece still works.

So they are still fit for purpose an I snipped the left cable off along the join of the Y connector. Something I would NEVER had done otherwise.

That's an expensive teething toy, good to learn that lesson before you got your JH16's!

Remember never to lent you anything....L3000.gif

But I feel your pain, the most horrible damage is when stuff is brandnew.
