Hmm, that might be the problem.

 

Maybe the LOD is just not working properly.

 

But try this: reboot the iPod touch, not just a switch off and restart, a full reboot (no worries, all data is safe).

To reset, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until either the Apple logo or battery symbol appears.

 

Reboot takes slightly longer than cold start and if the LOD still doesn't work, you better return it.

I can`t remember If there are different types of LODs -not all are compatible for ipod/ touch/iphone-different style connectors.

 

I searched ` LOD not working with touch` and theres a few threads there like this one

One of my LODs worked with my ipod but had faulty connection for my touch, I squeezed the end of the LOD so the connections bent down and connected better.

 

What amp are you using, headphones , what version touch etc

if i am not wrong, maybe your LOD don't work with you itouch, but work with the other ipod. Is like a different version.
