RE0 potential and uDAC

Hi,

I have recently picked RE0s after thinking about them the last two years :) I was expecting to be impressed but not this much! I had xcapes v1 and still have FA-003s and I thought I am used to upper mid-fi audio by now, but RE0s thoroughly impressed me. (If my memory serves me right, I like them better than xcapes)

Anyway, here is my question: I heard RE0s shine with amplification. I think uDACs sound better than the fuze with them, but I can't gauge the benefit of upgrading to a better amp. How much of the potential of RE0s I am getting with headphone out of the uDACs? Can anybody give me an idea?

cheers,

I dont know about a uDAC, but i know that the RE0s like getting amped.

i mean, the effect of being amped, is "visible"

if u like the sound, get an amp like the Mini^3 which is transparent enough.

if u want to go for lesser, go with a FiiO E11.

the E11 is a bit darker, but what amount of wrong can u actually do with 60$?

Thanks. I do hear an improvement with uDAC, but I am  trying to gauge the benefit of a better amp. I guess I need someone who heard RE0s both with uDAC and a better amp to chime in.

one last hopeless bump..

RE0 was infact my first quality headphones, and it was down the slipity slide from there on.  From my experience, udac and RE0 has great synergy.  It was infact my first IEM setup.  I also like it alot with my Sony 636.  Its all about synergy.  People dismiss a headphones because it sounds like crap without further investigation.  Some headphones need a precise setup for it to sound great.  I don't have complete understand of why and how it works, but I hope in the future I will have all the answers.  PFE112 for example can be dismissed as very narrow sounding headphones with a DAP, but when amped, it reveals alot of detail and has much wider sound stage.  Always try amping.   Even ibuds sound different amped.
