HRT Streamer+ wasapi+foobar = white noise ??
Details?? would be fine..
small bits of static when listening to music its not the headphones because i tried another pair and same thing, i can only get asio working with xmplayer but i like foobar better.
Is the static constant? Which Streamer do you have?
I don't know if this is the same problem you're having, but some people have trouble with sporadic bits of static with the MSII (and MSII+ ?). From what I've seen, it's said to be due to the streamer not getting enough power. The usual suggestions are to try different USB ports or, it that fails, to use a powered USB hub or a PCI USB card. I don't know if a hub would degrade sound quality, but in any case it seems like the PCI solution is the one reported to be the most effective (should probably double-check, though). I was having this issue with the MSII, but I don't seem to be having the same problem with the plus version... so far.
Edit: Sorry, maybe I should say that in my case the static issue with the MSII only happened once or twice. I got that mixed up with the fact that I was initially getting skips in playback, but that an easily solved buffer length issue.
I forgot to suggest trying a short USB cable if you're using a longer one.

Why would HRT sell faulty products like this?
I doubt I'm the appropriate person to answer this, but I actually hadn't thought of this issue as a fault or defect in the product, just as a problem that comes up when the Streamer (like other USB dacs?) is used with certain computers/USB ports. Which I guess could be considered a fault, since certain users won't be able to use it without making some changes. I don't know how common this problem actually is, though, or how much this happens with other USB DACs out there (I don't think this is exclusive to the HRT's). When I looked into the Streamer before buying it, there were few enough reports that I wasn't worried. Like I said, I've only heard a bit of static once or twice, and that was when the buffer length was set high enough in Foobar to cause other issues with playback. I haven't had any trouble aside from that.
Is your problem only with Foobar? If so, try lowering the buffer length if you haven't already. Maybe I've made things more complicated thinking your issue was different. Sorry if that's the case.
If you think yours might be defective, have you thought of contacting HRT through their site? I've heard they have good customer service.
