Problems with AUNE mini-usb DAC

I had the AUNE mini-usb dac working fine on win-XP desktop, and after upgrading to a new DELL latitude with docking station running

WIN7, the device was detected by windows and a generic driver was installed successfully, but the audio sound is not clean and is accompanied by cracking noise.

Any thoughts of how this can be fixed?

most likely to do with the driver. I had a similar issue - it was resolved with new drivers. contact the manufacturer with the issue - you may not be the only one. if they cannot update the drivers - you're probably stuck with either using XP or another DAC.

mmm, I had the same problem on my D630 laptop + dock. The issue was DPC latency related.
If it's really bad crackling (as in no sound at all, just static), try it on another PC now, it's possible the digital section or one of the opamps is dead.

This problem surfaced on a new DELL E6410 laptop, so I went on the DELL support site and updated all available drivers and flashed to the latest BIOS.

The problem is now gone !!
