For those of you not following along, there will be NO meet this year, or at least not at the end of this month.

That is, unless someone's been organizing this without letting the rest of us know...

Yo I'm from Omaha!

I'm totally down for a meet sometime.

What's the deal with the meet that got canceled?

I was organizing the event. I had a lot of personal problems at the normal time for the meet. I'm planning for sometime around april when it warms up.

Glad to see you're still planning on a meet, sir! I should have at least two new headphones for folks to try by that time. I look forward to it! Would it be possible to hold this on a Sunday? Otherwise, I'll see about getting the day off from my new job.

Heh, yeah I have completely upgraded my setup. I am now running a c-2c and an nfb-2 into a pair of HD650's. :D

Glad to hear you're alive and kicking brotha!

I have completely changed around my setup. I'll definitely be going, but not exactly sure what I'll be bringing this year. The Burson amp and JVC's are gone now. I have moved to vintage integrated amps and receivers.

Once again, I could probably bring a turntable, but NO JETHRO TULL  deadhorse.gif

does anyone here have the AKG 701's?

I was pretty set on getting those as my first pair of real cans (other than my current hd 555's).

but then i pre-ordered the hifiman he-400 on a random whim.

I really love the clarity and lively mids in music the most, and was wondering if anyone had the 701's that i could compare them to.

also, comparing to a beyer 880 or 990 would be cool too as i hear they're pretty similar.

thanks and also i'm open to anyone wanting to try out the he-400's that I will be getting by the end of this week.

let me know if you're interested!

I own a pair of DT880 and they are very similar sounding. I would say that the 701's have a slightly better mid-range and the DT880s have slightly better bass. However, YMMV, IMHO, ETC.

Hey is anyone willing to let me plug the new headphones I got into an amp of theirs?

I'm a noobie, and just bought a pair of he-400's and would like to see just how much they can improve with an amp, so i can decide what to purchase in the future.

Oh and are there any head-fiers that you guys know of that live in lincoln?  cause I'm currently going to school there.
