Sony MDR-EX600: Impressions Thread - Page 84

So I can get the 600 for about $150, I currently have the xba30 and they are very balanced overall for todays music and handle variety well.

I am thinking about these but what would you say is ones main reason to get these? Soundstage and neutrality?

Its between these and the xb90 because that big soundstage and bass sound cool too.

I just wonder if these would be so much better than my 30's.

Anyone, by chance have/heard both the EX600 and EX650 yet???

There is a graph out there and the 650 is similar to the 600 with a 10db bass boost, which IMO will make it unbearable.

Does indeed indeed like it gives too much bass from the reviews but some say changing tips has made them better. I really think the only interesting part is the new Sony driver shrunken to 12mm but with the same diaphragm surface area of the 16mm. First gen and all but it seems they are looking to try and make future phones smaller and not continue the large H3, EX series form factor. I look forward to a future smaller better tuned version of the H3 or new EX line flagship with an LCP version of the driver(unless they move on to another material).

Inks, will you be getting hold of one of those VSD5's, that they, excessive mention being tuned to the EX1000 sound, to actually compare with the EX1000?

Wait so the ex650 and ex450 are the succsesors to the ex600 and ex1000?

If thats the case I might look into the ex650.

The EX450 and EX650 are said to be successors to the EX310 and EX510. EX600 and EX1000 successors we may hope will come with the fall releases:) but I haven't read any real info.

I wouldn't personally bother, the H1 seems better and those aren't THAT great, GR07 classic has a similar, better sound at about the same price.

I have a love/hate relationship with the EX1000. Best bass in a iem but it also has sibilant mids and rolled off highs (which are also present in the 600-650-7550). Sony improved the treble with the H3 but screwed up the bass and coherency.

Fall releases huh? I guess Im gonna just wait to see what Sony releases.

I do want the xb90ex though for that soundstage and bass, might pass on the ex600 I have been eyeing for a while now.

If true, very very interesting.

Have you already heard the VSD5?

We were taking about the EX650.

As for the VDS5, if it's the same EX1000, I'll say the GR07 is on par if you vent mod it, heck perhaps better.

10db boost on a EX600 is not a good idea, no need to spend money for nothing. Heard H1 and it's pleasant but the GR07 is better at a similar price, heck even a modded GR06

^ Yep, just noticed your earlier post where you said you've seen a graph somewhere.

Anyway, back to the VSD5. Any IEM that's tuned after the EX1000 has officially my attention ;-)

I personally still prefer the EX1000 over the GR07 and H3 by quite some margin, granted their treble may not be the smoothest out there, but I have all three and the EX1000 are still the ones I tend to pick over the others.

Pinhole the back vent of the GR07, better bass response

For anyone that have heard the ex600; have you heard any of these?

H1

XBA3

XBA4

XB90

What are the ex600 compared to these?
