Looking an affordable DAC, some specific requirements

Thread Starter

I need a DAC which I can use with headphones as well as a pair of Audioengine A2s. I used to have a uDAC which fit my needs well since it mutes the lineout when I plug my headphones in, and I can adjust the lineout with the volume knob on the front (very important!). I'd like to find something similar but I haven't been on Head-Fi for a while so I don't really know where to start looking. Something small-ish for desktop use and under $300 would be ideal; I just don't want to buy another uDAC (or anything from NuForce). Any advice or suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thanks for your time, Aristya

Look into the Styleaudio, Audio-gd, Musiland, and Yulong units within your budget.
