Excellent Vivaldi deal

Alessandrini's Concerto Italiano is probably the best name in town when it comes to Vivaldi music. Usually their Naive Classique recordings are on the expensive side, but I just saw amazon is about to release a $16.75 4-disc box-set  which includes the exceptional Vespri

the so-so Concerti per archi

the hyper-energetic Gloria

and, last but not least, an highlights collection from the ground-breaking recording of L' Olimpiade

if you want an introduction to this great band, or to the "red priest", you will be hardly pressed to find a better deal...

It's more expensive in the UK (£22), and it looks as though the Vespri disc is also highlights. The US price is good, but at the UK price I'm not convinced that it's much of a bargain.

you are right: they have only one CD for the Vespri so it must be highlights. That's too bad, because there isn't a single track in the two Vespri CDs that I would not want to listen to!
