If you're looking for pure bass, you're better off going to car audio in your room.

Build your own box, with a 8"+ sub, powered by a sub amplifier that's powered by a computer PSU.

It's been done before.

The next step from that would be an active subwoofer that's found in like home theater applications.

Then from that would be computer setups.

If you want strong bass from a computer speaker setup, and you dont look like you're into quality of the sound, then go for Logitech systems.

The Z-5500 has a 10" sub, and i guarentee that'll be more than enough to shake your house.

car audio set up would be interesting haha

but the z5500 seems like it would do the job.

have you heard the 2300 in person before?

im curious how they compare in terms of bass.

Car audio doesn't work on house mains power even the most highest wattage pc power supply doesn't provide enough power, you will need a car battery to use car amps indoors.

The logitech subs are crap they don't even go that low and just suck next to proper subs, if you want massive ear bleeding bass consider the behringer b1800 pro.

The Z-5500 will do the job. You don't seem like an audiophile. Just a regular person who wants loud music from a computer setup.

I WAS like that. Still using my Z680 as a sub, but with quality speakers and DAC's.

My Z680 still can shake the house when I turn it up.

JRG1990, Car audio DOES work on house main power. There are so many videos on youtube about this and people doing it. For a car amp to actually use the amount of power that it specified it does is really hard.

This is my friend:

He's gone from 2 12"s, to this now. He owns the Z5500, and moved onto car audio in his room.

He's only using a 750w Corsair PSU.

Yes Logitech subs are crap, but I'm giving the OP the suggestion for Logitech because he doesn't seem like an audiophile going for accurate bass.

The most you need to shake a house is 40hz-60hz anyways. That's the "loud" part of bass anyways.

The Z-5500, and Z-2300 does 40-60hz just fine, and loud enough to shake the house.

No. If you want massive ear bleeding bass, you need to sit in this guy's car with 30K watts total.

Is that greater than $500? If there's no limit, hell get some Bowers & Wilkins speakers and one of their subs. I helped a friend of the family pick out some speakers. In his house we can't put the sub up beyond a third of it's actual power else the windows in the room begin to rattle.

Granted, the entire setup was a few thousand dollars so there's a reason why.

If there's no limit get LMS Ultra 5400 18" car sub and make some proper box, these things costs a small fortune AFAIK though and they even want along maybe 2500~4000W power to be happy lol. I believe it's 5000rms and 10.000 peak power.

It's the most impressive 18" or smaller subs on youtube as far as damage they do goes, windshields, no problem!

Bass I love you http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3b-UkRvXvSc

This is not a practical choice though and won't work due to the power requirements, just fun to watch though what power they hold.

WiZaRD, actually read the comment by meade916 on the video with the chick.

So I don't think the LMS 18" will break a car window.

Meade916 has 4 18" Ascendant Audio SMD's in his trunk, and way more power than the cracked windshield guy.

If he hasn't broken his windows by now, I don't think the guy with the LMS 18"s in his cracked windshield car actually broke his windshield with his subs.

Stuff flexing actually shows the weakness in the thing that's being flexed. Such as car roofs, doors, windows, and like that guy's windshield. Simply put, that guy's car is full of fail. It's not properly dampened and enforced.

I'm not saying anything about the LMS 18"s, I'm saying that guy's cracked windshield wasn't done by the subs.
