Huzzah!  Just got my V6-Stages (http://imgur.com/a/bonFE) today and I'm pretty happy with them.  Here's a quick and dirty review of them:

"After spending a month or so looking to replace my TF10s, I thought about picking up the UE900s but they seemed to be eh and started looking into higher end universals which ultimately placed me into lower-end CIEMs. I demoed the JH lines of CIEMs along with 1964 Ears. I would say hands down, the JH line is definitely better than 1964 Ears, but my ears weren't able to justify cost of JH16s for the marginal difference between the V6s.

Overall, the soundstage is great as there is definitely separation of instruments with what feels like a 3D soundstage. It's hard to describe but it's definitely something I haven't heard in universal IEMs before; feels like it's centering in my head and flowing out to the ears with peaks inbetween where as I find most IEMs to balance squarely in the center.  It seems a bit artificial in that there are specific segments to the soundstage, but it's not a bad thing?  If I had to tweak them a bit more, it would be nice if it was a bit more blended.

The bass is definitely present compared to the V6, but not as much as the JH16. (In terms of quality/oomph versus just quantity). I would say the bass is more responsive than the TF10s as well. Mids are certainly more present and forward, but they don't overpower the highs and bass. The highs, I am very surprised on, as they're pretty bright for what the V6-Stage should be; just under the point of sibilance for me which I'm not a huge fan of. (Mostly in the 6K/12K range) I've emailed 1964 Ears asking about this for more information which they'll hopefully get back to me about. Traditionally, I've always appreciated a darker high so this may just be shell shock and will need to ease myself into it via EQ.

Quality-wise, no bubbles in the mold and the coloring is even. The faceplates look great great and are seamlessly bonded to the body of the IEMs. The cable looks to be your standard Westone cable so nothing too much to comment there. The mold fits my ears pretty well so nothing to complain about there other than just getting used to something new.

Audio: 8.5/10 (Great soundstage and frequency profile minus the bright highs

Quality: 9.5/10 (Wish they would have used a Pelican case -- first world problems)

Value: 9/10 (Seems to be a great competitor to the JH line for people looking to spend a bit less and better than higher end universal IEMs)"

Yes, bright and good depth CIEM, for me they're comparable to FitEar ToGo!334 (I think Copper Cable will suites you more than silver or silver plated copper)

Oh man, I'm getting excited. I've tried to forget about the order I placed over a month ago, with some degree of success. Now that the reviews are rolling in, I just can't stop thinking about receiving them.

I just really hope they fit my small ears and narrow canals.

The total volume of the drivers of the V6 is actually lower than that of the drivers used in the V3.

While it's possible you may struggle with fitting the V6's drivers in your ears, let's be optimistic. They may have to build your shells just a little thinner than usual (doesn't really affect acoustics, but affects durability), but it's a very rare case that these things can't fit.

If your ears are bigger than these, then you're okay!

Thanks for the reassuring reply. Those IEMs look awesome, I would be stoked if mine turn out looking something like that.

Just to clarify, those aren't from 1964Ears, BTW. They're from this guy. However, I'm sure Vitaliy and the guys at 1964 will be able to shoehorn the contents of the V6 into most ears. Otherwise, they probably would've told you by now.

Yeah for sure they would have told you if they couldn't do your order. From my experience with 1964 in the past as well as their Facebook page their work is good and will work with you if it isn't what you expected.

I think if I didn't hear the jh13 demo when I was getting impressions done I would have gotten the v6 next. I may still get it especially since they have a discount for repeat customers but won't be anytime soon.

I'm curious, during their sale period.. Would returning customers still get a discount on top of the sales?

No they wouldn't. I emailed it about them and they said no but I think the sale period ended already. They did say they would consider a similar discount for returning customers after the sale period but they were not sure when I asked them.

No worries, I received my V6-Stages on Thursday and they fit and work. I must have small ears and canals because I was unable to do the soft canals, audiologist said I have "swimmers ear." So anyway, should work out for you.

Btw, if I get a slight change in bass response by pushing on the base plates - would I benefit from a slightly tighter refit? And I definitely agree I had an inflated expectation about the bass, these Stages sound a lot like how I would expect the regular V6 to sound, like the Stage is more of a "flavoring" of the V6. FWIW, I have no other high end headphones, I'm just talking about expectation.

I would say so. With CIEMs, a lack of bass usually indicates a poor seal, especially the V6. My regular V6 are definitely not bass shy, so I would imagine the stage version should at least influence you to comment on it. My fit is also nothing short of perfect.

I was worried about that, kinda a bummer, I'll try to remember the deadline 'cause I'm enjoying having customs took much to send them back right away :-)

So what has a better bass presence, the v6 or v6 stage?

Fedex disappoints me. My V6 Stage arrived in my city on Saturday but it wouldn't ship since it wasn't the scheduled date. I'll get it tomorrow but I would have liked for it to arrive early seeing as it's around 10 minutes away.

The anticipation must be agonising. I would almost rather not know 24 hour in advance, and just have them arrive when I'm least suspecting.
