SQ nwz-1061 VS nw-a857 ?

several days ago I managed to forget my jacket with my redwine ipod video in one of its pockets in my music class. It was taken and I don't believe i'll ever get it back. After looking through the forums i've come down to those two mp3 players because I love the fact that I can just connect them through usb and copy music over without software and the SQ.

My Question is does the nwz-1061 have better sq than the nw-a857. I honestly want the 64gb and would deal with the japanese menus. So without considering difference in sq a857 would be my first choice.

Please help me with this decision. Its only been 3 days or so without my ipod and my sanity is fading away without my music smily_headphones1.gif

I am considering a857 myself too! Love its small size but wonder how its SQ will stack against ipod/amp rig

I personally thought that the SQ on the X1060 was better than on the A840 when using Westone UM3x earphones. The A840 seemed to be lacking a bit of the fullness of the A840. I can't quite put my finger on what it was but the sound just seemed a lacking in comparison.

 

I think the A840 might have had a bit less hiss than the X1060 though.
