Weird situation, need help finding solution

Ok so long story short I bought these from Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000MUXJCO

They turned out to crackle so I bought this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829121120 hoping it would fix the problem.....which it did not.

I did a fair amount of Amazon searching for similar powered speakers that can use the same red and white cable I use between my powered AV 40s now and the aforementioned audio card. I was unable to find anything in the same price range ($150-200 including the $50 credit I got for my troubles from Amazon) so I considered getting a 2nd set of these http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HZBR64/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER instead because I've had them for years with nothing but good things to say about them.

Since the Bose connect with a 3.5mm jack to the headphone input on my motherboard but I spent the $ on this M Audio card that only has the red and white connections........

My question is.....Can someone recommend me some powered speakers that will work with the M Audio card I have now or if not can you tell me how, if at all possible, to continue using the M Audio card with this Bose set if I decide to buy it.

Sorry for the short story and thanks for any advice you can offer.

To connect the Bose speakers to your sound card, you can use a 3.5 mm stereo to RCA cable like this one (I have no idea about the build quality of that particular cable; it's just the first one I found).

If you're still looking into powered speakers under $200, you may want to consider the Swan D1080MkII 08's. I have no experience with them, but I'm thinking of getting them based on positive comments and the fact that I really like the m200MkIII's. Here's a review comparing them with the AV 40's (since I guess you know how those sound).

Ok I think I'd like to pursue the adapter route. Does anyone know where to find a high quality adapter? Thanks

The AV40 are brand new right? Have you tried connecting other things to them (e.g. a phone, MP3 player, TV) to see if the problem is the cable or the speakers?

The m-audio's are known to have quality issues, if you take them apart your find there full of cheap parts, i'd recommend the edifier r1900 or if you want a 2.1 like the bose but better then the Edifier S330D , both have have stereo rca inputs (the red and white connections).
