Decent speakers for vinyl rig?

I'm looking for some good speaker manufacturers to purchase a set for my vinyl set up. Any suggestions? It's my 1st vinyl rig and isn't too great so I'm not really looking for anything too good right now. I want them to be pretty decent, something that will last me a while and through some upgrades. Not looking for anything too great though, as they will surely be replaced.

My price range is probably something around $100-$200 max for the speakers right now. Think thats enough to get a pretty decent pair of speakers to use? Thanks! cool.gif

Would you consider building your own? You can make nice Voight Pipes for $100-$200. The cabinet work isn't too bad and there's no crossover.

Otherwise, you'll need to go vintage and possibly need to refoam them.

I would definitely consider it, though I have no experience in the field of building electronics such as speakers. How challenging would you say these are to build?
