Help me to equalize Sansa Clip+ with RE0

Hi guys,

I bought my Sansa Clip+ yesterday and im really happy with it. The player is incredible and it's even better than my Cowon Iaudio7.

Im using it with a pair of RE0 without any amp. I also rockboxed the player.

Could you please help me with the equalization? The sound is natural and now im using it without EQ. I would like to have some more bass and a bit warmer sound.

Any Suggestions?

I don't know how to set the Crossfade and the other advanced settings. If you can give me just some small tricks to make it perfect i would appreciate.

Thanks

Don't equalize, just buy an amp for the 0s. Its like this, when i first brought my 0s, listened to them all time out of my sansa fuze.all the time, i loved the "Quality" of bass on these. So much detail. And then. I built an Amp, for no reason whatsoever. It was a CMoy based on OPA2132PA. The fuze + RE0 (like the clip + RE0 combo) is very neutral, can sometime be not so much fun. So i brought an LOD, and used my CMoy in the combo And man, there's no turning back. The DAPs we both use are not very powerfull, and the 0s sure like power. My amp does colour the sound a bit, but the bass is more in quantity now. Am making a mini^3 amp for my 0s, its reported of being transparent too. Likewise, i'd say just buy a Fiio E11 and use it with ur clip+. U won't regret. Plus if in that combo u miss the bass, turn on the EQ in rockbox, and set the 60Hz level at 2dB.

I appreciate your suggestions but, right now, i don't want to purchase any additional amp. First of all because of portability and then because of money tongue_smile.gif.

I just would like to have some configuration tricks to improve a little bit. For my ears its almost perfect like this...

Thanks a lot anyway...i'll keep in mind in case in future i would like to purchase an amp...

Try just the basic Bass and Treble adjustments at first, if you're not ready for the advanced EQ options. Maybe initially try bumping the Bass control to +2 or +3.

I found the ''solution'' setting the bass at +9....now it is more present. All the rest is set on default without EQ.

Im really impressed by the Clip+ though...

I don't mean to ruin your audio bliss, and it's really great that you're happy with those settings, but isn't +9 a bit extreme? I mean, you're trying to turn a bright IEM into a bassy one, which can't be done without some losses - bye bye sweet detail. If that didn't happen, good for you, but maybe if you try rising the mid-bass a bit more, the sound will get "punchier" and the loss might not be that big. It's up to your ears to ultimately tell you how do you enjoy it, of course.

Thank you for your opinion. I know what you mean. The ''problem'' is that the RE-0 are a bit poor on the bass and with the clip there is not an option like matchbass like in the cowon. By the way i adjusted the bass volume to +6db. All the rest is on default without EQ. Like this is more balanced and for my ears is perfect sound. Clean and detailed....plus i can hear the BASS :)

Thanks!

+9 on the RE0s, just isn't doing justice to the 0s. I am tempted to say, the 0s just aren't for u.

I use the RE0 from more than 2 years now. I know how they sound and what are the plus and minus (really few). They are almost perfect and i wanted the ''suggestion'' because i replaced my Cowon Iaudio7. The function Matchbass was perfect because i could use the RE0 on default and the bass was amazing.

The Clip it seems even better as soundstage but i was missing that kind of ''bass''. Now, as i told you, im using it on default and just the bass on +5\+6.

But believe me that with bass on +5\+6 there is no huge difference with default setting. Just the bass is more ''present''

I always run my RE0's with bass boost enabled on my Arrow. There's no harm in adding some bass. Have fun with them! :)

Hey Negakinu,
sorry OP for hacking thread, can't pm on head fi when using cellphone,
what LOD do u use, when u amp ur Fuze, if u do, with the 0s?
Also, OP, boost the FR where u want, but i do remember a fellow head fier saying that even +6 would cripple ur 0s and not let them perform their best.

No LOD, straight out of the headphone out from my Clip+. I used to own a X1050 with LOD but couldn't tell the difference between that and the Clip+ headphone out. Made more sense to just sell the x1050 and use the much cheaper Clip.
