Replacing UM2-cables – is it worth it?

Hello,

 

A few years ago I purchased UM2s and I was quite pleased with them. However, my cable broke recently, and the warranty has expired.

 

I sent an email to the Dutch distributor, but replacing the UM2 cables would cost me at least €65 ($95), with the possibilty of that becoming even more.

 

 

Do you think it'd be worth letting the cables be replaced? I believe the market has gained quite a lot of new (and maybe better) IEM competitors, and it's now possible to pick up triple.fi 10s for €170.

You can send it to remold to a custom, which probably cost just as much as the repair, or maybe a little more.

I'm afraid prices will be quite some higher, considering shipping costs (from the Netherlands) to USA/China. But I'll think it over for a while, maybe I'll just rip up my wallet and get some Westone 3s.

 

(Maybe I should note I've never experienced any problems at all with the fit of the foam eartips, so there's no immediate need to remold anyway, in my opinion)

u may sell dis off for someone else to reshell, while u urself get something new n better ?!
