I have a feeling the HD598's driver is identical to HD595, though I forgot where I read about this proof.

I bought these headphones just for the fun of it, to see how they sound with all that apparently amazing bass. Well, for $50, they're ok sounding for extra bass headphones. They do have a...

Quote:558 driver, wasn't that the same as 598's driver?

Some people say this, some people say that... I really have no idea
Headfonia admitted to saying the modded 558 does not sound the same to the 598. A modded 558 apparently has more bass and less treble. The article writer seems perplexed by the difference.- gzone3lement

Interesting. Does the EW9 have soundstage too? Do Audio-Technica AD700/AD900 and the EW9 sound similar?

Thanks for the info guys. I've decided to stick with my old IEM's a little longer while napping. For something that is under 100 bucks for this purpose, I would say Audio-Technica AD700. HD555+ would be great if I choose to spend a little more. I realized if I purchase the SA5000, the budget would be too high just for this primary purpose.
