I heard even the HD558 driver is superior to the HD595... though I also forgot where I read it.

I think I remember reading 598's sound is noticably better then 595's

558 driver, wasn't that the same as 598's driver?

Some people say this, some people say that...  I really have no idea confused_face_2.gif Headfonia admitted to saying the modded 558 does not sound the same to the 598. A modded 558 apparently has more bass and less treble. The article writer seems perplexed by the difference.

Interesting. Does the EW9 have soundstage too? Do Audio-Technica AD700/AD900 and the EW9 sound similar?

Thanks for the info guys. I've decided to stick with my old IEM's a little longer while napping. For something that is under 100 bucks for this purpose, I would say Audio-Technica AD700. HD555+ would be great if I choose to spend a little more. I realized if I purchase the SA5000, the budget would be too high just for this primary purpose.
