Too high can be mind splitting to me. Don't get me wrong I like there to be plenty amount of treble but too much is like a drill to my head. Same goes for too much bass, though. This is for me at least.

midrange Im on team treble, I really also hate flatulent bass and a lot of midbass ugh!

I know what you are saying. I've heard an unamped ER4-S and it was painful.
