i sold the eq7 , it was like you said , decent but next to the K3003 it was simply useless

there is a savant selling used for 500$ but i can not get money to my paypal account , due to bnak measures where i live (greece)

it is sold by its 2nd user but still aaargh

Because I'm caring and sharing, I'll expand  a little more on the Savant vs K3003. I think that the majority of the reviews of the Savant hit the nail on the head - it has a very cohesive sound, it is detailed, it is pitched at an upper-midrange focus and it isn't a basshead iem. It plays acoustic jazz and small scale classical well capturing the instrumental timbre of the instruments well - particularly brass and percussion. Whilst I wouldn't call it thin, I think the K3003 is all over it for thickness of notes - when a guitar gets down and dirty, the K3003 has you up to your knees in mud, the Savant scuffs your shoes. I find that I am increasingly using eq with the Savant to give a weight and texture to the sound on the Cowon P1, especially for rock, funk and EDM - something I don't feel the need to do with the K3003. I think the Sorensiim review summed it up when he suggested that the Savant is a nice complementary IEM if you have something a bit meatier (in his case a K10). That's the way I see it as well and whilst it's nice and I won't be selling it, I see it is a complement not a replacement for the K3003.

for 600-700$ , i need something equal tothe K3 and not  just a complement , let alone one that needs eq'ing

i mean , i have ck10 as a complement , it doesn't need eq'ing and i bought it for 200$

plus , they have not revealed yet the driver numbers inside the savant which irritates me as it shows a tendency to hide things from the consumer

I have said it before and i will say it again , i think noble has good iems but since they are the hip brand they are overpriced - plus all this fanboyism from people willing to spend 1000$ just for the looks... well it reminds me of Lady Gaga fans , and i am a Pink Floyd / Miles Davis fan

think i will pass then ,thanx for saving me the money

had trouble getting a consistently good fit with the ie800 when i compared it to the k3003 but when i did get a seal, i rated the k3003 more highly sound wise. fit kinda goes without saying. haven't heard the se846 and layla.

i know and the ie800 is a dynamic driver earphone and the k3003 is a balanced armature and dynamic driver hybrid earphone. so what of it?

i've owned both types of earphones and i'm familiar with their sonic characteristics. the k3003 hybrid suits me to a t and i don't feel a need to look any further - thanks.

there are also cable issues with the ie800 , as too many people complain about the cable getting stiff & hardened in a short time period

wouldn't know about that. i just preferred the k3003 to the other high-end earphones that i auditioned at the time, including the ie800. it was kind of a no brainer. one of those times when you know that you've found "the one" but keep trying other options to be sure that you're not rushing into an expensive purchase. it was for me anyways. :)

The K3003 excels at precisely what the IE800 is good at. It's like a super IE800. As a complimentary IEM, I would just get the W60 or even the lowly SE846 urchin because at least they're good a different things. But If I could only have one universal IEM that is not the K3003. I would get the IE800 over the W60/SE846.

As for the Layla... no, no, no check your seal and tips again. Haha

like i said, i haven't tried the se846 or the layla and have no interest in trying them tbh. they're probably great at what they do but i've found that i prefer earphones with a shallow fit and are worn cable down - two more reasons why the k3003 suit me so well. and i think it looks schmick in an understated way.

Is there's something wrong with Layla?

Yeah there is something wrong with it scientifically. It creates a time warp and transports you to the studio where the album was recorded. You break through space-time and pop out of thin air and surprise the hell out of the artist and producers. Safety not guaranteed

As for not even trying the SE846 or Layla... why not? It's certainly questionable whether one should own them, but trying them out if you have the opportunity certainly doesn't hurt anything. They both offer a certain "experience" that some find impressive.

I switched to the small eartips today for the K3003. I think they seem to fit my ears a little better. I'm thinking about putting the K3003 tips on the Layla... BOOM!
