No, I didn't miss it. In fact you need to check out Razordogaudio's eBay store. He has an open box K3K for an excellent price. Ships to Canada too.

You got me excited for a second there. Unfortunately, it still ships from the states. Any savings I might find, will very likely be wasted in duty. Anything over   ~$20 is subject to duty/import. I've never had anything over $100 not get charged duty, electronics over $1000? I'd rather eat the cost difference now, and then be able to not worry about duty issues especially if I have a warranty problem down the road.

IE800, for $900.

SE846, for $1000

K3003, for $1300

I'm almost tempted to just get the IE800 for the price.

Saw a couple of really great prices on Head-Fi for the IE800.

No need for damage control, lol. Just wanted to prevent people thinking this mod will work for all IEMs (and concluding I have a screw loose if it doesn't ;)). No hard feelings on my part at all.

Ok, rather than ask pricing and whatever else: If you had only one IEM, would you go with the senn the shure or the AKG? You don't get to have any other IEM ffor SQ. Just a beater pair to get destroyed(which is currently a pair of Sony XBA-3s I got for ~100$)

K3003 for me, but I think the Shure is tuned for an entirely different purpose as it does double duty as a stage monitor. The SE846 seems to be picky with source, I've noticed that bass heavy tracks can be overbearing on my F886 to the point where the sub bass is plain fatiguing.

Sorry but anything over $100US is just incredibly rediculous to me...

As for $1000...
I can't even imagine spending that much on an IEM when you can have a top full size can in that price range..

This has to be the ultimate headfi-er deep end drop off into insanity status.
I hope to never reach such a status.

Edit: OK I feel the Headfi sickness and admit I would go $350 I hope I don't get worse!

OK, maybe $450, $550?  C'mon, just a couple of hundred extra!  :veryevil:

maxx134 - dunno why someone who pays over 1k for a headphone would think that forking out similar dollars for an earphone is ridiculous, especially if the earphone outperforms the full sized can. think k3003 vs w3000anv. wink.gif

Unless you intend to keep it for the rest of your life or at least for a very, very long time, I don't think it's impossible that is what a $1000 or so universal IEM will cost you in the end, i.e. about $200 to $400.

C'mon, go for it, you know you want to, or you wouldn't be here! :veryevil:
