To tone the treble down a bit, I bought the new TS500 comply foam for the AKG3003 and ooohhh.. all these combination makes the AKG300 really really good.. It kick up some really good bass, superb clean melodic bass, the foam also add some richness to the vocal. Good thing is, it didn't make the K3003 darker.

One of the complaint in the past, is I find the bass on the k3003 is a little light, but not now. Its still not as much as 1p2 (with comply as well) but is on par with 1p2 (with silicon). When both is on Comply, the 1p2 still came out more on the sub bass, but then the slam is more on the k3003 & much more tuneful. They almost sound the same on the bass now, the only differences is k3003 has a more forward vocal while 1p2 is still a slight U (very slight) & the difference is very noticeable. K3003 still maintains its wide sound stage with Comply

Have anyone try TS500 comply with k3003 yet?

I used them for a long time, but then tried the tx500 and haven't looked back. They are a perfect length and fit my ears well. They sound best to my ears and am happy to keep using them.

Hmmm, interesting. I've had a buncha TS500s laying around for eons but never thought to try them with the K3K. Might have to give that a try once I get them back

I use the T-400 Comply foam filters (don't need the wax filter) and they fit and sound really well, and are also very comfortable. I can definitely recommend them.

Lol.. so everyone is using comply except me until today... No wonder u guys swear your loyalty to K3003.

I am still listening as I typed and the more I listen, the more I want to listen.. Its really good.. superb bass quality, rich vocal & great clarity with super wide sound stage esp with ZX1. It was not the same for Silicon.. I need to eat back some words in the past when I didn't like how it absorb the treble frequency, The non-filter new comply does not absorb the treble energy that much, instead it makes the vocal so much richer & fuller. Absolutely zero sibilance without darkening it in anyway..

My new found joy in re-discovering the K3003..

... all of sudden, for some unknown reason today, I started to like birds... :)

I've never tried foam- been happy with the stock silicon, but will try some TS series comply tomorrow for kicks and grins.

Tried the TS500 and T500 this morning.

Didn't like the TS500- they kept trying to push the housings out of my ears and caused physical fatigue. However the T500 is very nice and comfort is as good as the stock silicone for me. No issues with treble on either but perhaps a tick more bass with the comply, due to a slightly better seal.

So I can definitely recommend the T500. Just make sure you don't push them down on top if the small nozzle vent.

Congratulations! The K3003 is truly an outstanding piece of audio gear, and I have a few other really great IEMs to compare with. Don't forget to screw on the "High Boost" filters though. The consensus seems to be that the "Reference filters" are the best, but to me and a few others it would seem the "High Boost" filters (and the right source/recording) make this phone go beyond what is already spectacular. I’d recommend you’d at least try them. My latest love is the Etymotic ER-4PT, but if I had to make a split second decision about which phone to keep I’d still probably go for the K3003.

I haven't really messed around with the high boost filter all that much. I remember listenin to Beach House's Bloom with the High Boost filter on and really enjoying it though; it seemed to lend the vocals a greater degree of immediacy, making them sound eerily "present". Have you noticed the treble becoming unruly or exacerbating poor recordings with the high boost on?

I suppose so, but when I pick the K3003 for a listening session I always also pick some really great recordings. I would say the "Reference filers" are perhaps a better all-rounder, but also make me miss some of that extreme presence that you mention and that I too feel the "High boost" filters give. It may not be to everyone’s liking and one might even have to acquire a liking for it, but the "High boost" filters are definitely worth a try.

Have been thoroughly enjoying my 3003's over the past few months. Have the reference filters in and haven't been bothered to try any others, but this is encouraging me to do so. What a great pair of iems.

The T-400 Comply foam tips are a bit tight to fit, but I guess help eliminate the risk of covering the nozzle vent as they don't easily slide on the nozzle. Also, my normal Comply foam tips size is medium. However with the K3003 I prefer large size as I use a somewhat shallow fit, although my ear canals are rather large too. As far as I can see the T-400s do not cover any part of the output.

(Apologies for not having cleaned the filter before taking the picture (I hope you won’t throw up))

Does the ER-4PT sound similar to the K3003 or both have quite different sound signatures?
