Perhaps my command of the English language has regressed, as, for the past five years, I've been living in a country that does not use English as a primary/secondary language, or lingua franca. Your words are unnecessarily probing and provocative, intentional or otherwise, so I will no longer respond to you.

You sort of remind me of my wife having a bad day: ”I will no longer respond to you”. Are you a girl? You do sound like a girl, and your avatar is really cute. If you indeed are a girl can you confirm music_4321’s statement that young women feel extremely attracted to men wearing the K3003? If so, maybe I can post a picture of myself wearing the K3003 and then hopefully you’ll be able to see me in a more favourable light.

Hey Aero Dynamik, tomscy2000 is one of the few people, among 100s and 100s of HF'ers, whose posts are worth reading. He, like everyone else, also has his own preferences and you're most certainly entitled to disagree with him. He also has quite a bit of technical knowledge many, many people lack, though, again, this knowledge does not mean everything tomscy2000 says is ultimately true or correct. He does strive for impartiality, though, and that is very important. He can also be rather impatient at times—and understandably so after so much nonsense that is often posted on these boards.

Anyway, like I said before, I think there was some sort of miscommunication / misunderstanding between you two. Your post above, I'm sorry to say, does not help much to put things right. You're a very nice HF'er, and in a way I can understand where you're coming from, but I do think you kinda misinterpreted Tom's post and possibly his intentions in the first place.

(1) With all respect (honestly), this time around I wasn’t trying to “put things right”. If someone closes the door in my face after I have politely asked if I may be let in, I won’t try to open it again. I simply turn around and walk the other way, perhaps making a joke as I go in an attempt to cheer myself up. That’s what you saw.

(2) My posts weren’t nonsense (and I don’t mean to imply that is what you’re saying) so I just can’t be as understanding. I admit that I wasn’t exactly kissing tomscy2000’s xxx in my first post (and I shouldn’t have to as you rightfully point out). However, I was sincerely trying to put things right in my second post but only to be met by a closed door. That is not ok in my book.

(3) Thank you! That means a lot to me coming from you so I hope you still think so after this post.

Well, as I said, I’ve turned around and walked the other way. So tonight I will do something tremendously more exciting than reading and posting on this topic. I will listen to Shostakovich Cello Concerto #1 with Heinrich Schiff as recommended by james444. I believe I’m in for something very special.

1) & 2) — fair enough.

Now, as for recommendations, I'd be a little more careful about those by james444 — never trust someone whose real name is Mr Utterly Uncool.

Hi guys, I wanna ask which tips do you use to fit K3003? I think the original ones are not so comfortable and I want try some better ones. Thanks.

lol! The price of the k3003 has finally dropped down to its real market value, given it has issues with coherency & everything. wink.gif

Next comparison review...

Akg vs monoprice

You know there must be a bunch of forum readers that are SO confused what to think about this IEM because of all the sarcasm and jesting on here!

I am curious how the new Shure compares against the K3003. They are similar pricepoints and aimed at the same market segment. Early reports on the Shure indicate its good but not mind-blowing out of this world!

That being said, I am still loving my K3003....whenever I hear that incoherency, I am full of joy and jump up and down on the bed with excitement.

haven't heard the new shure but it's gotta be better than anything I own.

Thanks for a great album recommendation, Aero Dynamik!

My thoughts are in line with what I wrote originally, but have been skewed more positively as well. I'm more impressed with its bass presentation, and most impressed with how 'clean' the overall presentation was. It's grainless with good black space. My main "issue" with it, back then, and still now, is its strange tendency to move towards sibilance but suddenly pull back. I tend to expect sibilance when that happens, and when I don't hear it, it's not actually pleasing, it's disorienting. I believe these findings correlate well with the FR of the K3003, given it's sharp peak and dip around 6k.

With regard to BA/dynamic "coherence", it's less of an issue now. Yes, obviously it sounds like dynamic lows coupled with BA highs, but I don't feel there's a terrible disconnect. Ultimately, I think the 1Plus2 does a slightly better job in this regard because its bass response is so quick, but I don't really find it a big issue anymore. It could be that my source now has very low OI compared to the middling OI of my old iPod Touch, and the better damping factor led to superior bass response, speed, and tightness.

Originally, many months ago, I lauded the K3003 as perhaps the ultimate on-the-go earphone, and my opinion hasn't changed. It has tank-like build, decent cables, and a comfortable fit. The isolation isn't great, but it's not horrible. The tips could be a litle better, but I've seen far worse.

I think the bottom line is that the AKG K3003 remains a very well-engineered item that will remain a definite TOTL contender despite new competition.

In terms of value, it's hard to put a finger on any big-time flagship's value. Already, we're hearing K3003 clones for a fraction of the price. The 1Plus2 is more enjoyable to a subset of TOTL seekers. Yet, it was indeed the first to put this hybrid concept together into a flagship-worthy product, and that definitely counts for something.

Thanks for the findings and I believe a lot of us appreciate the fact that you took a 2nd listen. Sounds like its pretty positive review. - Thanks again
