AKG K3003 High End 3 Way System Headphone - Page 76

Well I was considering getting the K3003i and wandered into here to get a better idea. I think I came into this thread slightly lost and leaving completely lost? Thanks for the guidance from this thread!

The only other IEM that I consider to be in the same league is the FitEar ToGo 334, which I enjoy equally much or more with some tracks, but still the K3003 is my favourite.

Since the K3003 wasn’t "very high up" when you heard it, which IEM was? Thanks!

I personally found tomscy2000's description quite interesting and rather good, actually, although I don't personally find it sterile either, but I think I can see where he's coming from; perhaps tomscy could have added the word "some" ("leading to some people believing it sounds a bit sterile"). I have to say that one thing I very much appreciate about the K3003s is precisely just how clean and, dare I say, refined they sound, hence my calling that "grainy" comment a joke in my previous post.

badwisdom, thanks for the kind words.

If anything, it's a bit too clean sounding --- a combination of the FR and the "peaks/valleys" type of treble which has a tendency of giving earphones the feel of a black background, leading to people believing it sounds a bit sterile. Even though I was personally not very high up on the K3003 when I heard it, I agree that it's been receiving undue hate since its release.

Your comments are refreshing. They made me buy a pair of AKG 3003 just to test them out.

I applaud your approach and agree with it 100%. One should love the sound coming out of headphones, not a sheet of paper.

I was on the cusp of doing the same, until at the last minute I decided to use those funds for a more exclusive phone that had a (relative) time limit. Once more funds become available, this very well may be my next phone purchase.  And I applaud music for his ongoing efforts to further what he believes is the 'truth'.

not really. like i already told you, i came here looking for a high-end earphone. it's an expensive one-off purchase for me so i've taken my time and am happy with my choice. like i said, i'm not obsessed with this stuff but that doesn't mean i'm not considered. not everyone who comes here ends up riding the earphone merry go round. some folks get what they came for and leave satisfied. hope you can understand that old-timer. wink.gif

If you've saved up for it, go for it before you get mislead. Most of the time, in my case anyway, I feel it's best to go with your initial choice no matter if it's a hobby or writing an exam for example lol. Your satisfaction is always correlated with that first choice.

I didn't regret getting these iems for sound.

Promise me you'll be honest enough not to create a new account the next time you'll be looking for a "one-off purchase"!

Seriously, I think you've made an extremely wise (smart) choice, and really shouldn't have any real need be be looking for anything else for a very, very long time. So, my very best wishes!

I reverse engineer your original post so I can agree on that bold part.

I remember reading that original AKG3003 thread started by Sparrow Music. It's 15 pages of intelligent debate which I absolutely love to read again. Too bad it is locked now. I recommend reading all 15 pages for people interested in the AKG3003. I promise it will not be a boring thread. Music first post alone took me 2 days to read through all other reviews. A fantastic thread on AKG3003i

Hello,

I need your help, I got an extremly good offer for the AKG K3003 , i'd get them for 300€.

About me, I'm not an audiophile nor do I have a lot of knowledge about audio, but I certenly have a feeling for good sound.

Till now I only own the K601 and the Klipsch s4i, in the moment I'm using cheap sony headphones, but I HATE them, I always feel like I'm missing something I got with my K601, or the K702(or the K712 Pro, I dont know which one is better?) which I also want to buy.

Most times I'm listening to soundtracks, epic, pop, dub, rnb and a lil classic.

What I'm asking u is are there any better IEMs suited for me at such an aggressive price?

My concern is that I dont get to experience all their performance cause on the go Im using my iPod, iPhone, iPad, Nexus device which I think do not have good DACs and when I'm at home I'll either use K601 or K702/K712 Pro right now i use the headphone jack from my PC but I want to buy the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 which my brother recommended evon though I dont know if I shell buy that or any other DAC?? Maybe any recommendations?

Please help me and stay calm I know I should educate myself on this but I have just 2 weeks left in that time everything is soo cheap or at least cheaper cause im 17 and I aint got much money!

ANd also Im sry for my bad English im really trying but its 03:00 and Im already 60 h awake so please dont mind!

THANKS!!!

Want to give us your connection? I would buy one, or two, or three, or 5 million.... at that price. If you really can get it at that price, I say go for it. Worse come to worst, sell it for twice of what you paid.

Um...when I am trying to be subtle, as the grumpy sparrow needs no extra attention, bolding and upsizing my text does little to further my cause.

Having said that, music's musical and sonic tastes are nothing to be ignored, for those who enjoy true, music......

And Mimouille, you are just going to have to find your own (....oh well, ...nevermind...)

For 300€ you better jump on it before it's gone. It's the kind of deal that's too good to be true, and should not be passed up on.

Don't even think twice!
