Sennheiser's MX980... Still good unamped?

Hey all, I'm heavily considering purchasing Sennheiser MX980's... they are £81 (around $130) on Amazon UK which looks like a really good deal to me. The only thing that's holding me back is that I'm going to be using them straight out of an unamped iPhone 4, and I've heard the 980's need an amp the most out of the MX lineup. I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with them unamped and how they are?

Just a quick bump and another question; would adding a Fiio E5 into the equation be a good fit for the MX 980?

They sounds pretty good without additional amping, straight from my touch 4G HPO.

Mine sounds great out of an iPod Classic and Zune HD.

I use mine with a Cowon J3, but still on my Nokia N8 they sound pretty good without an amp.  Very clear sound.  I like IEM's, but I think these are good quality earbuds.  Seems you are getting a good price also.
